This is my choice project.  I had initally made the vase as a part of my set of three but the others did not turn out as well as I had hoped so I decided to make this my choice!  It is approximately 5 inches tall by 4 inches wide.  It is glazed in clear and dark blue glaze.  Since this was not the first time that i made a vase, there were not many new skills that I learned but had to be very cautious with the top and make sure that it did not become uneven.  The blue glaze that is only on the top gives it a dripping, or melting appearance.  The glaze is also coordinated with the curve of the vase.  The glaze and shape of the vase, together, give the appearance of a liquid dripping down the edges, instead of sitting at the bottom, as a vase is normally used for containing a liquid.

This is my plate project.  It is about the size of a salad plate and has a diameter of 7 inches.  The plate is flat with curved edges on the outside.  It is glazed in a dark blue.  In order to create this project, I had to learn how to make a plate.  This was an entirely new skill that I had to develop and will still take much more practice to develop the skill entirely.  The spirals of the plate give the appearance that the plate raises up in the middle much more than it actually does.  The dark blue glaze with some areas lighter than others gives the plate a more antique look while the vibrant hue allows it to look new as well.
